I guess you need AJAX to do that.

It's not really an ASP.NET question anymore. And no, I don't have the code to do this on hand, b/c it's complex. Whatever process you want to do on the back end, is what you need to do in an AJAX call, or a series of calls, which will allow you to show a progress bar and/or redirect when it's done.

An AJAX Modal PopUp blocker would serve the purpose. Or else you can write your own javascript to set the page Opacity also...

I'm expecting the OP to get the AJAX extension library added, and do the necessary changes in the web.config and all the remaining stuff if in case he wants to use the AJAX control.
Am I expecting too much?

I wasn't sure if it worked in the 2.0 framework, that's all
But, nowadays, it's possible you would be expecting too much, in any case...

Hi,
Use Ajax Update Panel in your page to avoid Whole page refresh

That's way overkill. The control can be set to not postback at ALL, and he doesn't need it to contact the server, so why does he need AJAX ?

Sometimes, you need to have actual ideas, and write actual code yourself.

Obviously, you have to write some codes by yourself to implement that. A general solution is:
1) A table in your DB stores the email and password of all members.
2) A form in your website has three fields: email, old password and new password.
3) After the member submits the form, you will match the email in your DB and accordingly change his password.
4) At last, you need to send a mail to the member to notify his password change.
Notes: If a member forget his password and the stored format of the password is 'SHA1', he will need to answer some extra questions for security to get a newly initializing password provided by your system.

The stored password have in 'SHA1' format. But I try to develop forgot password section like facebook and tagged social networks. At the last part of this section a member have to enter his/her email and new password. How Can I change the stored password based on email and new password using any method? Please Help me.
