I had come across that quote before. My main takeaway has always been that, yes, if you don't know how to use the tools of your trade, you're going to be a rather poor tradesman indeed.
Which I'm sure isn't what Dijkstra was trying to convey at all.

At first I had opened the page with IE. It showed no issue, and no amount of searching returned anything.
(yes, it's still the default browser on the Win7 VM I use to browse my RSS feeds--which is how I browse the CP lounge).
I thought they're either not using it, or they've made a lot of progress while I wasn't looking...
Then I reloaded the page with Edge. Made me wish I could return to IE and pretend it reflected its true state.

I just calculated the average age for my team and it turns out we are old. We have an average age of 54 which seems high in the grand scheme of things.
We are still holding our own very well though. so I was just wondering if anyone else had an older team and how they are handling grey beardedness.

|
|
|
|
We have four people in their 50s on the team, but the average age is brought down by a few young'uns in their 40s, 30s, and even two 20s.
As for how we manage, youth and enthusiasm will never be a match for age and experience.
Freedom is the freedom to say that two plus two make four. If that is granted, all else follows.
