Javascript code is executed by the browser, in the user's system, so it does not have direct access to any file system. It can be used to load and save files on the user's system, but only under the user's control. So you have two choices: 1. locate the files on some public website as you are currently doig, or 2. Host them on the web server and modify the backend code to feed them to the web page. If you want to learn Javascript (with lots of good examples) go to JavaScript Tutorial[^].
